SCA Artisan Love
As the Midrealm A&S Pentathlon Champion for A.S. 49, I am proud and pleased to share the love for the amazing artisans of the Middle Kingdom and Knowne World. Over the course of the next year, this page will become filled with the names of those artisans who inspire us all with their beautiful artifacts, period processes, hard-sought research, infectious enthusiasm, and just plain amazing work!
Click each name below to learn more about the artisan, see their works, find out how to reach them, learn what events they are attending, and — as I know how much everyone loves to learn something new — you will may even find a short tutorial on what they taught me!

Thank you for your support of this project! Please like, share, bookmark, and re-visit this page for more A&S awesomeness!
this is such a great idea, I hope you make this a fixture on your page so that we can come back to it again and again!
It is now a permanent fixture — there’s a link to it at the top of every page, and I just installed a new database to hold the information of each artisan I contact for this project! 🙂
what a fantastic idea! Thank you so much for doing this!
Thanks! Remember, I am accepting nominations for more folks who deserve some love!
I would suggest Fujinami no Kaede-hime (Lady) as someone to talk to. She has done/is doing some incredibly advanced things with Japanese Braids on (well beyond th basic kumihimobwe ar used to seeing) as well as work with me for about 8 years on Heian Japanese cultural research.
Nomination received! I will need to wait until 2015 to include Fujinami, however, as she is a member of my Barony and I am leaving all Cynnabar artisans for our Baronial Champion to interview and write an article about. But I would love to include her — she’s a wonderful person! 🙂
This is a great idea– I think it will inspire more artisans to work on their own projects!
I would also like to nominate Rois Alann inghean Ui Fhlaithbheartaigh (Rois O’Flaherty) as an artisan– she researches and makes glass beads, and runs Bead Rescue (http://beadrescue.com/) at almost all of the events she attends.
Thank you! I will add Rois to the list and contact her to get the process started. 🙂
This is a fantastic idea! So very cool! (and it gives me so many ideas for my next A&S project.)
